EMI sells, desperate for cash ...
Troubled record giant EMI has reportedly put legendary studio Abbey Road, where The Beatles recorded many of their albums, up for sale.
According to The Financial Times, the facility in north-west London, which was immortalised on the Fab Four's 1969 album Abbey Road, is being offering to interested parties as part of a debt reduction exercise by EMI-owner Terra Firma.
Disclosed documents indicate that the St John's Wood-located studio could command a multi-million pound price tag when it is sold.
Alongside The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Radiohead, Blur, Oasis and the Manic Street Preachers have all recorded at Abbey Road since it opened in 1931.
