New material & a tour on the way ...
Belle & Sebastian have revealed plans to get back into the studio to record a new album and play a string of festival dates in the summer.
The acclaimed Glasgow indie band, whose last record was 2006's The Life Pursuit, said in a message to fans on their mailing list that they have been working on new material, before heading to Los Angeles for recording sessions.
"We've been in the studio these last few weeks writing some new tracks and shortly we will say cheerio to Glasgow for a while when we set off to LA to record our next album," the group explained.
They also confirmed festival dates for 2010 on their official website, including Finland's Ruisrock Festival on 11 July, Norway's Slottsfjell Festival on 15 July and Japan's Fuji Rock Festival on 1 August.
Details of UK festival appearances are expected to follow shortly.
