Bruno funny man goes too far with Avatar ...
Sacha Baron Cohen's planned sketch for the 2010 Academy Awards has been axed from Sunday's ceremony, reports say.
According to the New York magazine, Academy Awards spokesman Matt Labov said that the Borat star was no longer scheduled to appear at the event.
It is understood that Baron Cohen was planning to send up James Cameron's Avatar in a comedy skit with Ben Stiller.
"I hate to use the term, because it's so ubiquitous, but there were creative differences," said Labov.
"Nothing acrimonious, but both sides felt that since they couldn't agree, [Cohen] might as well remain in London."
In the planned skit, Baron Cohen was going to come on stage as one of Avatar's female Na'vi characters while Stiller provided translation for what he was saying.
Later in the sketch, the Ali G actor would claim to be pregnant with Cameron's child and then confront the director in the audience.
Another person not attending the Oscars is Nicholas Chartier, producer of The Hurt Locker, who was banned this week after making disparaging comments about Avatar in an email to voters.
