The fans gets creative ...
A Lord of the Rings fan has invested her life savings in creating an unofficial prequel of the movie trilogy based on J.R.R. Tolkien's novels, according to The Daily Telegraph.
Kate Madison spent £25,000 making Born of Hope, which tracks the story of Arathorn and Gilraen, who are the parents of Aragorn from the acclaimed trilogy.
The 31-year-old directed and starred in the 71-minute feature, which has already registered over 250,000 views on YouTube.
"I used a couple of paragraphs in the appendices [of the original book] and we followed a timeline Tolkien had written...so we had certain facts to follow, but the rest we had to make up," Madison explained.
"I ended up coming up with the idea for a prequel, which basically slots on to the front of the Lord Of The Rings films, with the aim of trying to fit in with the universe that Peter Jackson created, without looking out of place with the fact that we didn't have a budget."
Despite never being likely to make any money from the film, Madison said that she "can't believe we actually managed to complete" the project.
"It's obviously not the same level as Peter Jackson's films but it's a good semi-pro low budget version and we're very pleased with it," she added.
