Like "a $200 million student film" ...
Jeff Bridges has revealed that big budget superhero film Iron Man had virtually no finished script when it started shooting.
The veteran actor, who played Obadiah Stan in the 2008 film, said that the story went through constant rewrites as the cast and production team worked on the hoof.
Speaking to The Times, he said:
"The crew would be in the studio, tapping their feet for us to get out of the trailer. We were in there for two or three hours, writing the scene for the day, man.
"I mean, come on. You'd think for a $200 million movie, they'd have their shit together. If I don't have any lines, then who am I? It was very, very frustrating."
However, Bridges said that he eventually made a "little inner adjustment" to view the production as a "$200m student film", which helped him to relax.
"Nothing changed, but all of a sudden I started laughing and going, 'Okay, I play your part, you play my part'," he said.
"The crew would knock on the door - 'Are you ready?' 'We'll be out in a little bit'. It turned out great. That's just it. You have to dance the dance that's in play."
