Welcome to the second instalment in the YLWL podcast series, in which we give a platform to some of the sharpest musical minds currently doing damage on the scene. Next up this week is Sean Palm who brings a belting selection of musical cuts in his Falling From The Trees mix. Read, listen, or read and listen at the same time, it's up to you. Enjoy.

After gorging on a rich musical diet of Warp, Strictly Rhythm and R&S Records in his youth, U.S. producer Sean Palm set out to beat his own sonic path through the electronic scene. In doing so, he wanted to not only fill dance floors around the world but also expand a few minds at the same time. In 2005, Palm and partner in crime Matt Xavier formed Railyard Recordings, with a mission to create a suitable home for their own music, and also provide a platform for other likeminded souls.

Palm's first production, the humorously titled Where's My Dongle?, made it onto Loco Dice's Time Warp Compilation in 2007 as the opening track, leading to a guest appearance on Swedish producer Joel Mull's track Fluffer from his Sunny Hills EP on Steve Bug's Audiomatique imprint.

Upon hearing the track, Steve Lawler immediately licensed it for his VIVA Compilation.

Mull and Palm have since collaborated again on new project The Descent (which is possibly not linked to the middling and slightly all over the place 2005 horror film), drawing together Palm's hypnotic sound collage and the Swede's sonic vision.

New Zealand producer Simon Flower, minimalist head Tim Xavier and Railyard's Alexi Delano have all elected to remix Palm's unique brand of future sound. Last month, he also released debut nine-track record Days On End, which was accompanied by the Continuous Poolside Mix on the flip. And now Palm can add YLWL to his growing list of admirers - an honour for both of us.
