Who? A classically trained musician, who was brought up on rock n roll, blues, soul, jazz and Irish folk, Dreadkey started recording at 14, is a musician, producer, composer, and arranger who has toured and recorded with Speech Debelle, The Clan and Ninjatue.

Why? Because to Dreadkey music is the key to human emotion.

When? Latitude on 17 July, the Mercury Music Awards on 23 July, the Secret Garden Party on 24 July, a UStream live single launch broadcast on 27 July, the Southbank Festival on 31 July and Bloom on 14 August. He’s a busy boy is Dreadkey.

Where? Check out Dreadkey's MySpace for new tracks and dates.

Dreadkey is a musician/producer/composer/arranger who has toured and recorded with Speech Debelle, The Clan and Ninjatue, as well as working closely with artist Sirael.

What or who are your current influences?

Dinosaur Jr, Nirvana, Bonbo, Fink Setve Albini, on Hospital Records.

You make music because?

I need to be stimulated and I need to keep out of trouble! It’s the

only thing I really understand to be honest and it’s better than sex.

Why is Beyoncé so popular?

She’s beautiful, an amazing vocalist and performer, and has yet to make a bad career move (that includes the sacking of her father).

Fame or talent?

Talent: Fame is like a super-nasty porn-star lay: fantastic fun, great memories, but not someone you would bring home to meet the parents. Talent is like someone you can build a home with. Talent

is forever. Fame is a fickle slut – fun while it lasts, gone tomorrow.

What are you musically most proud of and why?

A bit of sync work I did for a large fashion brand (mainly because

it sounds like somebody else who is very accomplished in completely different genres to me). Very sweet indeed. Speech Debelle is now spitting on it.

What’s the state of the nation right now?

All things considered, things are great. I’d rather be here (London) than anywhere else in the world. And so would all the people who cry about this being a country in decline. London is beautiful. We live in the land of milk and honey.

What needs to be done?

Clever spending and investment. Now’s the time. I just moved

into a new house. I couldn’t have done that 18 months ago.

Do you recycle?

Yes.

Do you cycle?

I motorcycle. Bicycles scare me
