Who? Jamez, born and raised in the U.S., ran Studio Z Productions for over 10 years in Hollywood, working on major label albums, TV shows, film soundtracks, and some respected independent artists’ records along the way.

Why? Jamez started producing beats aged four on the Casio his parents rented for him. He then got a piano at seven, a guitar at 12 and joined rock bands at 13, before moving to jazz and touring with a blues band at the tender age of 16.

When & Where? Having lived and gigged in almost every major metropolitan city in the U.S., Jamez will be gigging in Tennessee soon. He’s also in a Motown Music Review.

What is your sound?

A mix of stuff that is always funky. I like R&B/neo-soul/electronica, and am a fan of rock, jazz and blues.

Apart from making music what other things are you good at? 

Sex, video games, and cooking.

Who do you most admire musically?

The greats - Chopin, Bach, Beethoven, Prince - all prolific, and unbelievably talented. Their stuff has held up because it's so solid.

As a producer, musician and composer what is good (and bad) about each?

Being a producer is good because you call the shots, but bad because people don’t know that you are actually a player. Being a musician is good because you get the girls, but not a lot of money. Being a composer is good because you get cash, though it's bad because nobody knows who you are.

What does America’s Got Talent offer to the world?

We may get some good entertainers out of it. Either way we will get entertainment from watching them try to be entertainers.

Obama – doing a good job?

Well, he is clearly a very intelligent and smooth talking man. I have a lot of respect for him just because he graduated Harvard! He is probably not doing a super job, at this point, but give him time to implement stuff. The U.S. is screwed-up in many ways and it will take eight good years at least to fix the last eight years.

If you weren’t doing music you would be …?

A doctor, a lawyer, something with a pay check. I am into computers and communications as well as cars, and electronics. I also love coffee. I could probably save money with a job at a coffee shop.

What would be your superhero power?

I would like to freeze time. I would be able to go around and get stuff done. It just seems like a cool power. Also the power to get any girl I want to like me... oh wait I already have that one.

Your make good dance music. Can you dance?

I am actually too cool to dance, I just rock.
