Who? Jerico Kane is made up of Mancunian front man David 25, main writer Karma 25, and New York beat master Danny 22. They are three young men on a mission.
Why? Their sound is totally not meant to work, but the lads manage to bring rock, R&B, rap and hip-hop together almost magically, and come up with a singular form of popular music that has credibility and meaning.
When & Where? Currently holed-up in the studio working hard to get their album finished, the band will be gigging and releasing something, probably at the start of 2010. So keep a look out after the New Year.
Three different personalities, so who’s the boss?
We don’t really have a boss, but David is the feisty one and tends to shout about to get his own way.
Apart from making music what other things are you into?
Karma and Danny literally are not into anything else! If they are not in the studio writing and recording then they are on the phone talking about ideas for songs. Karma gives Danny about half an hour off a day to go skateboarding but that’s about it. As you can tell, David tends to get a lot of time off to generally party and follow his beloved Liverpool. It’s not unusual to be woken up at stupid o clock in the morning to find David is somewhere he shouldn’t be. He woke up in France a couple of weeks ago.
Who do you most admire musically and why?
David listens to a lot of Guns n Roses, the Stones and Motown (weird combination we know). Danny doesn’t listen to any other artists, as he tries his hardest not to mimic anybody’s style, and Karma is a big hip-hop fan. As a whole we look to the likes of Gym Class Heroes and the Black Eyed Peas.
What value does X Factor offer to the world?
I think the X Factor offers a lot. This is a tough business to get into, and there are a lot of talented people out there who go unnoticed! I think the world is better off with the likes of Leona doing there thing.
Who is your guilty musical secret?
I think every guy’s guilty secret is Take That. You know we all know the words when it comes on the radio!
Who is the next big thing?
Who knows who the next big thing is as it’s down to the public. We personally think that Frankmusik and Mr. Hudson could definitely do a bit though!
What is your televisual musical treat at the moment?
Karma and Danny rarely watch TV but David doesn’t stop watching football (any match will do) and he’s a secret Big Brother fan!
What would be your superhero power and why?
Our super hero power would be to manipulate the world with our music in order to become rich and successful.
