Who? PictureBook is made up of brothers Master Toko and Lord highOwl and their 'sister' Lady Aya. While fairytale-loving singer Aya from the Faroe Islands is much travelled, the brothers were brought up in Manchester, New York, under the tutelage of their musical father. Their new single Make A Move is out now.

Why? Each gig is a genuine show, throwing in unexpected beats and the band going on a visual and musical journey.

When & Where? In Liverpool, for Liverpool Music Week, and monthly at the Magnet, also in Liverpool with their club night Make A Move. They are on tour next year, and have one-off gigs at the end of this year. Check out their MySpace.

Tell us about your club night.

highOwl: It started as an idea when we wanted to expand within the genre of music we play, and make people dance. We remixed our songs to the point that there is no way a person will not move to it!

So how did you meet and decide to work together in Liverpool?

Toko: Lady Aya had not sung before she met us, but we encouraged her to sing to my beats, The chemistry was so good we decided to harness it! It was university that made Liverpool a logical destination.

How did Lady Autumn get involved with the visuals?

Toko: Lady Autumn is a Faroese designer, who is also Aya’s sister. Our view is that gigs should be a show in every possible sense. We needed someone who could guide us visually, and Lady Autumn has been with us from the beginning. Her style has developed in the same way as our sound, and we bounce off each other. Having said that, her videos mostly are created after the music.

Who do you most admire musically?

Aya: Björk, because of her lack of fear.

highOwl: My biggest musical admiration is my father. He really went where no one has dared before in the studio and on stage! Oh, Incubus and Elbow too!

What’s the state of the U.K. right now?

highOwl: The music scene is coping alright-ish. Other than that, we should all sit down and learn to love each other. There's far too much fear around. And violence. I've never understood violence.

How are you coping with the recession?

Toko: What recession? Seriously, it’s grim. We all know that there's some one causing this. There's too much that we don't know about this lifestyle. It’s scary.

What is going to win X Factor? And why?

highOwl: It is a question of what! We simply don't care! Not with any anger, just total indifference to the freak show.

Who is your guilty musical secret?

Aya: Nsync!

highOwl: The Backstreet Boys, and Spice Girls.

Toko: Prefab Sprout.
