Who? Meet the four-piece band The Product (who are BJ and RJ Perry on guitar/vocals and drums respectively; Jerome Reilly on guitars/backing vocals and Richie Bennett on bass/backing vocals). The Product hail from Wales, Michigan, and their mission is to keep rock alive.

Why? Featured on iTunes alternative section front page, the band bring a dynamic energy to their live shows, write music about things people relate to, love to play it really loud, and rock out.

When & Where? On a U.S. tour this autumn, but looking to spread the word wider than the shores of America. You can check them out at their MySpace.

22-year-old bassist, Richie takes the Q&A helm.

Apart from the music, what other things are you into?

I love spending time with my black Labrador, playing video games and sports with my friends, baseball and American football.

Any pre-gig superstitions?

We do a huddle on stage and put our hands in as part of a team thing. Something I do is get a shot (a kamakazee - best drink ever) and stretch really well. I do a lot of moving and need to get loose!

Will you be costumed-up for you performance at Hallowfest 2?

I believe if you play a Halloween show you had better do it right. However, I don't know if everyone else in the band would agree. I think I might go with the Racoon suit from Mario 3.

Who is the band Nazi?

Easy: BJ. I was in a band with him a long time ago and he was unbearable. He's much better now though, and I enjoy his company. He has good ideas and has pushed hard to get the band where it is.

What are the pros and cons of being in a band?

The biggest pro is travelling and meeting tons of people. The trade-off is I lose my free time to spend with my family and friends. But I really love the band and wouldn't trade it for much at the moment, well, maybe a million dollars.

Tour or record?

Tour, no question. I don't like recording because of the monotony. If you don't get something right, you have to do it again. And again. And again. The only real drawback to touring is our vehicle. It's cramped and has no windows in the back, so I make videos of us being stupid and upload them to facebook.

What is your guilty musical secret?

I love techno and more specifically, new hardcore and hardstyle. I usually don't tell people that, but if you’re around me for long enough, you can figure it out,

Who is the next big thing?

If Straight Line Stitch can follow their single What You Do To Me with another one then that's that. It’s edgy rock with a fast, intense chorus.
