The Strokes have started work on their fourth album in New York with U2 producer Joe Chiccarelli.

According to a note on the band's official website, they began working with the renowned producer, who has also collaborated with Beck and Bjork, on Monday.

The recently reformed Strokes are recording at Avatar Studios in New York, with Grammy award-winning engineer Gus Oberg also involved.

Videos from the recording sessions will be posted online shortly.

Last week, it was announced that The Strokes will headline this year's Isle of Wight Festival on 12 June.
