The Flaming Lips frontman Wayne Coyne has expressed his hope that Justin Timberlake will appear in the group's new film.

Coyne said that he wants to bring on-board a number of famous faces to make cameos in the follow-up to 2008's Christmas On Mars.

Speaking to Billboard, Coyne said:

"I'm in the process of begging [Timberlake]. If I'm lucky I'll be able to wear him down in another year.

"[I want] celebrities to show up and have fun with us for a couple of nights."

Discussing the film, Coyne said that he wants the as-yet-untitled project to be completed more quickly than the seven years it took to finish Christmas On Mars.

"My only goal was that I didn't have to build space station-looking sets every time I wanted to have someone say something," he explained.

"This one is set in someone's house, a backyard and a slaughterhouse; all those are available to me right here."

Timberlake famously appeared on stage with The Flaming Lips in 2003 during their performance of Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots on Top Of The Pops.
