Vanilla Ice has been confirmed to appear at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

According to the former rap star's official MySpace page, he will perform at one of the festival's on-site bars on 24 June.

The rapper, real name Robert Van Winkle, stormed to worldwide fame in the early 1990s, with single Ice Ice Baby and debut album To The Extreme selling millions of copies.

However, he drifted from the public eye after second album, Mind Blowin', got an unfavourable reception from fans and critics.

Vanilla Ice will join headliners U2, Muse and Stevie Wonder on the bill for Glastonbury, which runs from 25 to 17 June at Worthy Farm in Somerset.

Pre-registration for festival tickets closes on 31 March, with the final batch of tickets going on sale from 9am on 11 April.
